Privacy Policy
Joboz helps you find remote jobs and write to companies. This page explains, in plain words, what we keep about you and why. We don't sell your data and we don't show ads.
What we store
- Your account: email address, name (if you give one) and your password, stored only as a secure hash.
- If you sign in with Google: your Google account ID, email address and name. We ask Google for nothing else: no contacts, files or calendar.
- Your profile, if you fill it in: headline, location, contact details, links, summary, work experience, education, skills, projects, certificates and languages.
- What you do in Joboz: the searches you start, the jobs you save, the resumes you create and their versions, the CV files you upload (PDF or DOCX), and your email alert subscriptions.
- Mailboxes you connect, only if you choose to: the address, the mail server and an app password stored encrypted, or nothing but the address when your own agent reads the mailbox on your computer. From the Sent folder we keep who you wrote to, when, the subject and attachment names, so we can show which companies already have your CV. We never read or keep the text of your letters or the content of attachments. Stop reading or remove the mailbox any time, and what was read is deleted.
- Signed-in devices: when each session started and was last used, and the browser name, so you can see your devices and sign out everywhere.
- Copies of the emails we send you, such as confirmation links and job alerts.
We don't store your IP address in our database. It is used briefly in memory to limit repeated sign-in attempts.
Where it is kept
On our own server in the European Union: netcup, Germany. We keep your data while your account exists.
Who helps us run Joboz
We share data only with services that do a specific job for us:
- Resend sends our emails. It receives your email address and the message.
- AI model providers (Anthropic and OpenAI, through the Jcode tool on our server) write a resume or CV only when you press the button to make one. They receive the profile details and the job posting needed for that document, nothing else. Your uploaded CV files are not sent to them.
- Cloudflare carries all traffic between your browser and our server and protects the site from attacks. It sees your IP address and the pages you request.
- Google confirms who you are if you choose to sign in with Google.
We don't sell your data, we don't share it with advertisers, and we don't use analytics or tracking tools.
Cookies
We use only the cookies the site needs to work:
- a session cookie that keeps you signed in (up to 30 days);
- a security (CSRF) cookie that protects your account from forged requests;
- a short-lived cookie during Google sign-in;
- if you open a friend's invite link: the invite code (no personal data) for up to 30 days, so the friend gets credit if you create an account.
Your theme and a few view settings are saved in your browser only. No advertising or tracking cookies.
Your choices
- Download your data: Account settings, then Your data, then Download my data. You get a JSON file with your account, profile, saved jobs, resumes and the rest of what we keep. Uploaded CV files can be downloaded one by one in My profile.
- Delete your account: Account settings, then Delete account. Your account, profile, saved jobs, resumes, uploaded CV files, alert subscriptions and sessions are deleted for good. Searches you started stay in Joboz for other people, but they are no longer linked to you.
- Stop email alerts at any time with the Unsubscribe link in each email.
You can also ask us to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Write to [email protected] and we will answer within 2 business days. If you live in the EU, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Job postings and companies
The job postings and company contacts in Joboz come from public sources: job boards, company websites and public LinkedIn posts. If you represent a company and want something corrected or removed, write to us.
Children
Joboz is for adults looking for work. It is not meant for anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and the date below. For important changes we will also tell signed-in users.
